NNS Soroh Records Success

On July 15, 2023, personnel from the Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH (NNS SOROH) led by Commander Olushina Ojebode conducted a water patrol in the Gbaram Community of Agbadam-Foropa. During the patrol, they came into contact with six armed men in a speedboat who attempted to attack them. The troops responded with superior firepower and forced the armed men to flee.

The troops recovered arms and ammunition from the armed men, including two AK-47 rifles, six AK-47 magazines, 133 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and a small Tecno phone.

In a separate operation, the same troops discovered a wooden boat laden with illegal crude oil products at Southern Ijaw. The boat was deactivated in accordance with regulations and standard operating procedures.

Commander Ojebode commended the troops for their gallantry and assured Bayelsans and Nigerians of the Nigerian Navy’s renewed commitment to providing adequate security within Nigeria’s maritime domain. The troops are determined to ensure that no element of crime remains in the nation’s waterways.
